The goal of Milliman VALUES series, which focuses on variable annuity (VA) policyholder behavior experience studies, is to evaluate and improve common assumptions using advanced analytics, and to provide implementable suggestions. In this summary, we focus on some of our findings related to policyholder behavior during the pandemic versus how Milliman would have expected them to behave in the absence of the pandemic. We also discuss some related insights and plans for futures studies.
