Pushpika Seneviratne
Pushpika Seneviratne is a consulting actuary in our life consulting practice in Sri Lanka and is based in Colombo. She joined the firm in March 2021.
Experience
Pushpika has over 12 years of experience in the insurance sector.
Prior to joining Milliman, she was attached to LOLC Life as Head of Actuarial, where she was primarily responsible for strategic decision-making and problem solving for the company.
Her main areas of work included:
- Company solvency
- Development and revision of life products
Previous to joining LOLC, she was at HNB Assurance PLC for over seven years, working in different capacities from assistant manager to chief actuary. She also served in the Executive Committee of both Life and General insurance companies.
Pushpika was a member of a number of board sub committees such as Risk, Audit, Strategic, Investment, and ALM.
She was responsible for establishing the Actuarial Department at HNB Assurance back in 2011.
She steered a number of assignments while at HNBA:
- Transformation from Net Premium Valuation regime to Risk based Capital
- Adoption of IFRS 4
- Regular life product development initiatives and profitability assessments
- Solvency assessments of both Life and General insurance companies
- Year-end actuarial valuations and surplus determination
- Annual review of experience studies
- Review of reinsurance arrangements
- Business projections and impact assessments
Pushpika started her actuarial career at Eagle Insurance (currently known as AIA) as a Management Trainee. Following, she joined Ceylinco Life as an assistant manager.
Pushpika is a member of the Sri Lankan Insurance Industry Actuarial sub committee.

- Distinction Degree in MSc in Actuarial Science, University of Leicester UK
